Board of Directors
Brian is a professional accountant and partner in the firm Gislason Targownik Peters. He has a CGA designation and graduated from Briercrest College with a Bachelor’s Degree.
He enjoys contributing to Gateway Resources by serving on the board of directors. One of his favourite events at Gateway is the annual Christmas concert performance by the clients of the organization.
Brian is married and has 4 very cute children – Zane, Paxer, Blaze and Azalea. Brian has been a Board Member since May 2007.
Angela is employed by Garden Valley School Division in the Operations department. She is the Transportation Supervisor and in charge of approximately 90 route and spare school bus drivers.
She also makes sure students eligible for transportation are assigned to a bus route. Special bus route arrangements are necessary for students with disabilities and Angela assists with requests from schools to accommodate transportation for these students.
Angela has been married for over 30 years and has two adult children. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She has been a Board Member since 2009.
Jake lives in Morden and has worked at Salem Home for 31 years. He is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
He is a member of the Morden Mennonite Church and enjoys hockey, bicycling, walking, camping and swimming.
Jake has been a Board Member for Gateway Resources for 4 years. Previous to that, he was a board member for Valley Rehab/ACL for many years.
Rebekah is a teacher in the Garden Valley School Division. She has spent the last twelve years teaching various grades, overseas and locally, and specializes in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL).
When she is not involved in school activities, she enjoys gardening, walking, camping, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Rebekah is excited about the opportunities Gateway Resources provides for those in the community, including family members, and wants to help contribute in some way to the organization. She joined the Gateway Board in 2016.
Anna has worked for Access Credit Union for 30 years and is currently the Vice President of Human Resources. She has a passion for working with individuals with an intellectual disability and has been a coach with Special Olympics for over 30 years.
Having seen the evolution of Gateway over last few decades, fulfilling their vision and mission, she believes the organization will continue to be vital to enrichment of the lives of adults living with an intellectual disability and wants to contribute to that success.
Anna and her husband have three adult children, have always called Winkler home and enjoy spending time with family, friends and volunteering in the community.
Janet and her husband have farmed together near Carman, raising beef cattle and growing a variety of crops for over 35 years.
Janet has volunteered at Special Olympics Amigos 5-Pin Bowling for more than 10 years. She enjoys watching the happy faces of everyone cheering one another on. She has also served her church as a Board Member.
Janet treasures the time spent with her 4 adult children, and especially with her 5 adorable grandchildren. She enjoys road trips, traveling, baking and watching baseball games.
Janet is thankful for Gateway Resources who provides intellectual disabled people with hope, happiness, and a place in their community.
